The best response representing my view in the wake of Dropbox’s revelations of an authentication bug after a code update yesterday.
While I can’t say I’m thrilled to hear this news, I am not outraged like some other users seem to be.
The fact still stands, even in the wake of all these cloud resources, the internet is still the internet. Nothing on it is ever truly secure; never has been, never will be.
I make sure any data that is really sensitive that I need to put on Dropbox is encrypted and then is deleted from my Dropbox folder as soon as I have no need for it to be there anymore. Apart from that, nothing I have in there I wouldn’t be bothered showing any other man on the planet; even those fiends that could of logged on to my account between 5:41pm and 5:46pm PST.
